Starting Over (kinda)

For the past couple of weeks work has completely consumed every second of my life.  Whether it’s been due to working longer hours or letting cases and daily interactions consume my thoughts after hours, it’s just been hectic.   Unfortunately, I’ve let the craziness get the best of me and allowed my training to diminish into something along the lines of non-existent.

This morning I woke up with a combined feeling of being recharged and needing to clear my head.  To ensure that I’d have a good run I got a little iTunes happy and went overboard with purchasing new running songs.  And with a whole new motivational marathon playlist I was good to go!

Like any first run after a temporary hiatus, it wasn’t my fastest or best, but it was a start.   So I’ll get back out there tomorrow and hopefully be back on track.  

In other news, thanks to my obsession with the Peanut Butter Fingers Blog along with my roommate’s obsession with smoothies, I have become addicted to this meal of sorts… I can’t get enough of the Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie and am definitely looking for other smoothie recipes to test out…any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I would have posted a picture of the Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie but I was too excited to drink it and didn’t realize what was going on until the whole thing was gone.  So find out what it looks like by making one!

PB& Banana Smoothie Recipe:

4 ice cubes
1 whole banana
1 handful of spinach
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 drop of honey
1 sprinkle of flaxseed
3/4 cup of almond milk 

Blend together and enjoy!
