Sannnnnnddyyy, why-y-y-y, oh Sandy
As scary as it is that a natural disaster is looming, it’s pretty exciting preparing for a storm. I have the same feeling that I used to get in elementary school when a big snow storm was about to arrive, except tomorrow I won’t be waking up early to watch my school’s name roll across the TV screen. Instead, since my office is in evacuation zone A, I will enjoy Hurricane Sandy Eve and sleep until I can’t sleep anymore.
Today was supposed to be my long run, but I couldn’t get my head in the game with all of the excitement surrounding the storm. Since we will pretty much be cooped up indoors eating junk food, it wasn’t my best decision to push back my long run, but I’ll make up the miles later this week once the storm passes. After doing a quick run I got everything ready to evacuate my apartment and occupy an equally unsafe apartment so that I can spend the hurricane with these party people:
If the storm is as bad as everyone is anticipating I don’t think I’ll be able to run outside tomorrow, and since the gym is closed I brought sneakers and plan to run the stairs. I sound like a crazy person but doing the inMotion Story-by-Story Stair Climb earlier this month reminded me what a good workout the stairs are and desperate times call for desperate measures.
For tonight, we’re stacked with non-perishable food, delicious snacks, candy, wine and cheese, take out food, board games, magazines and movies and ready to take on the storm.

One response to “Stranded at the drive in, branded a fool, what will they say Monday at school?”
haha You're the first person I hear put a great positive spin on the hurricane stuff. As long as everyone is safe, all is well. 🙂
Have a great day!
