I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
I recently mentioned that I revamped my marathon training plan, but am still tweaking some of the details, so I haven’t uploaded it yet. The biggest change though is that I am now running long runs on Saturday and using Sunday as my rest day. Saturday called for 16 miles, and with the snow that covered Manhattan, I decided to run to and through Central Park to enjoy the scenery and check out a few spots to bring my new camera on my rest day.

The park was beautiful, and made the miles fly by. I was so excited to come back the next day to take pictures with my camera rather than just on my phone. But then, something beyond unbelievable happened…
Anyone who knows me, this goes beyond my closest group of friends even, knows that I love weddings. What’s more is that I LOVE wedding videos and photographs. When my friend Allie got married last April, one of her Maid’s of Honor, Cassandra, introduced me to the Michael Justin Films website. At first we all watched the videos to get ideas for wedding details, but on the side I quickly became infatuated with watching the videos just for the experience itself.
For a split second I thought it was wedding videos in general, but I’ve seen videos on other websites, on pinterest, on youtube, you name it, and nothing has compared. Though I came to the website about two years behind schedule, I caught up quickly and made my way through every wedding, proposal, engagement, save-the date and photo. Michael Justin Films soon became a topic of discussion whenever I was with my girlfriends – and I even made attempts at talking about it with Batman, too, but he would have none of it.
So after that little background on my obsession with this NY Wedding Cinematography company, you will never believe what happened! As my 16 mile ended, I finally had a chance to check my phone for the first time in about three hours. I had plans to hang out with Cassandra so it didn’t seem out of the ordinary that I had a missed call and voicemail from her. But as I listened, I soon found out that this was not about our plans. She was calling to tell me that I WON A PHOTOSHOOT WITH MICHAEL JUSTIN FILMS!!!
As if I needed any more convincing about who I would want to take my engagement pictures or film my wedding (don’t worry Batman – I mean in the distant future), yesterday sealed the deal. From the second I met Michael he made me feel comfortable, which isn’t always easy in front of a camera. He is extremely talented and has an artistic eye, capturing brilliant shots. It’s inspiring to watch someone do something that they’re passionate about, and it’s obvious that Michael is passionate about photography.
To top off the day, Batman met us in Central Park for the second part of the shoot. I’m really killing him lately regarding his request for anonymity – oops. It took a little bit of convincing, but he promised to meet us as long as he could watch the Knicks game first. Done and done, and now I’m psyched to have pictures in the park together!
I can’t imagine having a better day. Getting to meet my favorite cinematographer/photographer; spending the day in snowy Central Park; taking romantic pictures with my boyfriend…what more could I ask for?!
Even now that it’s over, I still am not completely sure if it really happened. Can this happen every Sunday, please?

How did you spend your rest day this week?
Have you had a day that you can’t believe really happened?

Thank you so much! You should run the New York City Marathon! The last three miles are in Central Park. I'm running it this November. We can keep each other motivated for training!
